Port Huron Enrollment Center Global Entry Interview & Appointment Guide

Next appointment in 2 days

The Port Huron Enrollment Center sits inside the Blue Water Bridge itself, on the 2nd floor of the customs building at the Michigan end of the bridge connecting Port Huron to Sarnia, Ontario, just across the St. Clair River. It's the closest enrollment center for travelers from the Detroit and Flint areas, roughly an hour's drive south, as well as for Sarnia and the broader Ontario side of the crossing. Because it's built into an active international bridge, the drive up is a little different from a typical office visit, so give yourself extra time to find the right entrance.

No available appointments at Port Huron Enrollment Center?

Interview slots at a border-crossing enrollment center like this one can be limited, since the same small staff handles both NEXUS and Global Entry appointments. Rather than refreshing the Trusted Traveler Programs site by hand, savvy travelers set up Snapslot to send a real-time text the moment a cancellation opens up, so they can grab it before anyone else does.

Knowing the Global Entry Application Process

  • Submit Your Application: Create a Trusted Traveler Programs account and submit the Global Entry application with the fee.
  • Await Conditional Approval: CBP reviews your background before clearing you to schedule an interview.
  • Schedule Your Interview: Appointments here fill quickly. If nothing is open, Snapslot can alert you the moment a cancellation appears.
  • Attend Your Interview: A CBP officer reviews your documents and travel history in person on the 2nd floor of the bridge building. Only the applicant should come inside; the center has no room for extra guests waiting in the lobby.
  • Await Final Approval: Most applicants hear back shortly after the interview.

Preparing for your interview

Bring every original document you used on your application: birth certificate or valid passport, citizenship certificate, permanent resident card, driver's license or state ID, and any other immigration paperwork on file. If you're bringing a minor child, both parents generally need to attend; if one parent can't make it, ask the enrollment center in advance for a consent form. The interview is mostly an honesty check about your travel history, so answer plainly and dress the way you would for any appointment with a federal officer.

Getting to your appointment

Parking at Port Huron Enrollment Center

Do not rely on GPS if you're driving from the U.S. side, since it will often try to route you into Canada. Coming from Detroit or Flint on I-94 East, take exit 275, turn left at the light and stay in the left turn lane, then merge left again after you pass under the bridge and turn into the Customs parking lot before the traffic light. Coming from Canada, take the downtown exit off the bridge, turn right at Hancock Street, then right again at Pine Grove Avenue, and turn into the fenced Customs lot on the right just before you'd otherwise go back under the bridge. Confirm the crossing on Google Maps before you leave. Once parked, look for the glass double doors leading into a vestibule; ring the intercom and let them know you're there for your appointment, then head up to the 2nd floor.

Taking Public Transit to Port Huron Enrollment Center

There's no public transit that crosses the Blue Water Bridge, and local transit options on either side are limited, so plan to drive or arrange a rideshare from Port Huron, Sarnia, or a nearby Detroit-area suburb. If you're flying in, Detroit Metro Airport is the nearest major airport, with the Blue Water Bridge about an hour north by car.

No available appointments?

Check the Trusted Traveler Programs site directly for openings, or let Snapslot watch it for you. If you're stuck in bridge traffic on your way to an appointment, the enrollment center's listed lines are the fastest way to reach them.

Skip the manual refreshing: Snapslot texts you the moment a Port Huron cancellation opens up.
