Global Entry Interview Abroad: Where You Can Do It

By SnapSlot · Published October 27, 2026

You've been conditionally approved for Global Entry, but you're traveling, and the nearest enrollment center is a long way off. Can you finish the interview while you're abroad, or do you have to wait until you're back in the U.S.?

Usually not, but there are a few exceptions. CBP lists only four Global Entry enrollment centers outside the United States, in Mexico City, Doha, Singapore and Fort Erie, Ontario. It also runs Enrollment on Arrival at preclearance airports in Canada, Ireland, the Bahamas, Bermuda, Aruba and Abu Dhabi, where you can interview before your flight to the U.S. Otherwise, your options are a remote interview, if you qualify, or finishing the interview when you land back in the U.S.

That's a short list, so if you searched for a Global Entry interview in Rome, London or Paris and found nothing, that's why: CBP has no enrollment center or Enrollment on Arrival location in those cities. Below is every option, with current appointment availability from SnapSlot's live tracking.

Can't find an open interview slot at any center? SnapSlot watches Global Entry enrollment centers for canceled and newly opened slots and texts you the moment one opens up.

The 4 Global Entry Enrollment Centers Outside the U.S.

These are the only non-U.S. locations in CBP's Trusted Traveler scheduling system. Each link goes to the center's page with its current appointment availability.

You book these the same way as any U.S. center, through your Trusted Traveler Programs (TTP) account after you're conditionally approved. If a center doesn't appear as an option for your application, it isn't available to you, so check the scheduler before you plan a trip around one.

Preclearance Airports Where You Can Finish the Interview Before You Fly Home

CBP's Enrollment on Arrival page lists the non-U.S. airports below as places where a conditionally approved applicant can complete the interview as part of U.S. inspection. At the preclearance airports, that happens before you board the flight to the U.S.

Your Other Options if You're Abroad

Finish the interview when you land back in the U.S. Many U.S. airports offer Enrollment on Arrival at the international arrivals hall, which means no separate appointment at all. This is the option most travelers use.

Book a regular center near your arrival airport. If your landing airport doesn't offer Enrollment on Arrival, schedule a standard interview at a center nearby. Appointment waits at U.S. centers vary widely; see our live wait time statistics.

Ask about a remote interview. CBP offers video interviews only to some conditionally approved renewing members, so first-time applicants generally can't use this. Details are in our remote interview guide.

Step by Step: Finishing Your Interview While Traveling

  1. Get conditional approval first. Apply online through your TTP account and wait for CBP to conditionally approve you. You can't be interviewed before that happens.
  2. Check your TTP dashboard for your interview deadline. CBP gives conditionally approved applicants a limited period to finish enrollment, so confirm the date on your own account before you plan around a trip.
  3. Pick where to interview. Choose from the overseas centers or preclearance airports above, Enrollment on Arrival when you land in the U.S., or a regular U.S. center.
  4. Book a slot if you're using an enrollment center. Schedule it in the TTP scheduler. Arrival-based options (Enrollment on Arrival) don't need a booking.
  5. Pack your documents. Bring your valid passport (all of them, if you travel on more than one), proof of residency such as a driver's license or utility bill, and your permanent resident card if you have one. Proof of residency isn't required for minors.
  6. Complete the interview and confirm your membership. After a successful interview your Global Entry status is activated in your TTP account.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Rome have a Global Entry enrollment center?

No. Rome, and Italy generally, isn't on CBP's list of Global Entry enrollment centers or Enrollment on Arrival locations. Travelers based there usually finish the interview when they return to a U.S. airport that offers Enrollment on Arrival, or at a U.S. enrollment center.

Can I do my Global Entry interview at a U.S. embassy?

Only in Singapore. The Singapore center is located at the U.S. Embassy, and it's the only embassy-based location in CBP's scheduler. The Doha center is at Hamad International Airport, and the Mexico City center is at a CBP office.

Can I do my interview at Toronto, Dublin or another preclearance airport?

Yes, if you're conditionally approved and the airport is on CBP's Enrollment on Arrival list. The interview happens during U.S. inspection before your flight to the U.S., so you need to be flying there that day. Check the airport's hours on CBP's page first.

What is Enrollment on Departure?

Enrollment on Departure is a separate CBP program that lets conditionally approved applicants do the interview before a same-day departing flight. CBP currently lists it at Miami International (Concourse J) and Detroit Metro. It applies to travelers leaving from those U.S. airports, not to overseas travel.

What do I need to bring to the interview?

Your valid passport, proof of residency (not required for minors), and your permanent resident card if you have one. If you need a disability-related accommodation, tell the interviewing officer right away.
